Classy, richly-appointed interior is a statement for the brand, showcasing a new take on luxury
The arrival of the new Jaguar Type 01 interior pictures created one of those ‘everyone around the laptop’ moments in the office to have a look when they landed.
The reaction as we opened the files for the first time? Muted appreciation. No dropped jaws. Lots of ‘ahhh yeahs’ and ‘oooookays’.
In reality, nothing was ever going to top the unveiling of the original concept car almost two years ago, one whose exterior was so dramatic and shocking that we actually had to remind ourselves whether Jaguar did ever show pictures of the interior. It did, and the production version stays true to it.Â
The Type 01’s interior looks classy, upmarket and almost Scandinavian in its use of light and materials. It’s a world away from the Jaguars we’ve come to know in modern times but also just as far away from anything bearing the Range Rover brand. Jaguar is very much going to do its own thing, and these pictures show it.Â

The Type 00 concept made such a statement that Jaguar could only double down on that for production. To do any less or water it down would have undermined the very essence of the project.
Given the close visual relationship between the concept and production interiors, the same will be true for the exterior and those proportions. Jaguar has told us as much.
The interior was such a small part of the story then – as it was always going to be, with that styling and those proportions on the outside – but will become a far more important one in production. It isn’t showy and demonstrates a different way of being classy beyond anything high-tech or more traditional in its take on luxury.Â
It’s to Jaguar’s credit that this car makes as big a visual statement now as it did when we first saw it in December 2024, and it’s the design that lives long in the memory after the whole ‘woke’ rebrand campaign furore around it has been forgotten.
It has been a long time coming, the new Jaguar. Too long. Getting here has been messy. Mistakes have been made, things have been said that can’t be unsaid. But at the end of it all does come a tangible reinvention for the brand, something different and a chance for success.Â
We’re now only weeks away from seeing the finished thing.
