Volkswagen adds electric variants of Transporter Shuttle and Kombi
Wednesday, Jul 02, 2025 12:00 AM
VW Transporter Shuttle EV New vans, powered by the same 65kWh battery, can be specced in either short- or long-wheelbase forms

Volkswagen has added electric variants of its Transporter Shuttle and Transporter Kombi vans as it expands its commercial EV offerings.

The eight-seat Shuttle and the scalable Kombi both draw energy from a 65kWh lithium ion battery, which yields 194 and 196 miles of range respectively.

Power is sent to the front wheel wheels via a single 134bhp electric motor.

Both vans can be specced with either a short or a long wheelbase, the latter adding an extra seat for nine in the Shuttle or six in the Kombi.

In either spec, the Kombi has a payload capacity of 896kg.

Kit for the EVs includes heated front seats, a heat pump, all-season tyres and single-zone climate control. The Pro versions add a leatherette-wrapped, heated steering wheel.

Pricing starts at £53,404 for the Kombi and at £56,129 for the Shuttle.

For comparison, the Ford E-Transit Custom Multicab (with up to five seats) and E-Transit Custom Kombi (up to nine seats) start at £48,080 and £45,635 respectively, offering ranges of around 200 miles.

Both of Volkswagen's new offerings are on sale now, joining the e-Transporter Panel Van in the brand's commercial EV line-up.
