Porsche has released a new sketch of the upcoming Taycan, the brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle and has also shared details on the EV’s launch date.

We hope the production Taycan will look exactly like these sketches because the EV looks aggressive and much better than the Tesla Model S.

Porsche also confirmed that the production Taycan will debut in September 2019, probably at the Frankfort Motor Show. Market launch is scheduled to be before the end of 2019.

Porsche has gotten significant interest in the new Taycan and says that more than 20,000 people have already registered to buy one, paying a $2,500 Euro deposit. Porsche has already increased planned production to meet demand. Acceleration is pegged at zero to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, driving range is estimated at more than 310 miles, and it will be capable of 800V fast charging.

Porsche also confirmed that the Taycan Cross Turismo, a jacked-up wagon version of the EV, will begin production by the end of 2020. A concept car version of this model can be seen in the photo below.
